4.10 文字の強調

タイプライターを使って文書を作成する際， 重要な単語は下線を引いて強調します．しかし出版されているような本では， イタリック体で単語を強調してあります^4.15． L^ATEXには，文書を強調するために以下のコマンドが用意されています．

$\begin{command} \texttt{\symbol{'134}emph}\verb*\vert{\vert\emph{text}\verb*\vert}\vert \end{command}$

このコマンドが引数に対してどのような出力を行うかは，前後の文字列の書体によります．

$\begin{example} \emph{If you use emphasizing inside a piece of emphasized text, then \LaTeX {} uses the \emph{normal} font for emphasizing.} \end{example}$

文字列の強調とフォントの変更との違いに注意して下さい．

$\begin{example} \textit{You can also \emph{emphasize} text if it is set in it... ...\emph{sans-serif} font,} \texttt{or in \emph{typewriter} style.} \end{example}$
